MyVisit™ is a convenient way to collect medical samples or get cardiac monitoring set up, in the comfort of your home or any location of your choice, at a date and time that fits your schedule.
Booking an appointment for yourself or a loved one is easy with our online portal; all you need to get started is a test requisition.
With MyVisit™, a specially trained lab technician will travel to you to collect medical samples, which will then be safely transported to a trusted LifeLabs® laboratory for testing. The results will be sent directly to your doctor and will be available to you through MyCareCompass™.A MyVisit™ appointment fee is $85 per person and covers the cost of the lab technician visiting you. Most tests are covered by provincial health care plans. Any tests prescribed by your healthcare provider that are not covered by your provincial health care plan, will incur an additional charge and LifeLabs® will contact you directly to detail such costs.
Cardiac monitoring requires two service visits: first for device connection, then a follow-up for removal.
All service and non-OHIP test fees can be paid through our online portal prior to the appointment. We accept Visa and Mastercard and will confirm payment via email or SMS to the email address/phone number associated to your account.
There is no charge for cancellations made more than 24 hours before the appointment time.
The full MyVisit™ service fee will be billed for cancellations made less than 24 hours before the appointment, or if the patient is not present for the appointment, however, all pre-paid non-OHIP test fees will be fully refunded.
Please allow 3-5 business days for MyVisit service fee refunds and 4-6 weeks for non-OHIP test fee refunds to be processed and issued to your original method of payment.If you need to cancel or reschedule, please let us know more than 24 hours before your appointment by signing into the MyVisit™ booking portal and going to the Appointments page to reschedule or cancel your visit(s).
People who reschedule, cancel, or miss their scheduled appointment with less than 24 hours of notice will be billed their full visit fee.MyVisit™ currently offers sample collections for most blood, urine and fecal laboratory tests, ECG, and Holter monitoring.
We will contact you if any requested tests are not offered through MyVisit™. You can also email MyVisit@lifelabs.com to confirm test availability before scheduling an appointment.

Yes, you must first obtain a test requisition before scheduling a MyVisit™ appointment.
Requisitions can be ordered by medical practitioners, dentists, insurance company agents, nurse practitioners, and naturopathic doctors.We are offering MyVisit™ throughout most of Ontario and actively expanding our service coverage areas.

Within 1 - 2 days of booking your appointment, our program coordinator will provide instructions to help you prepare for your MyVisit™ appointment. You will also receive an email/SMS or phone call with preparation instructions the day before your visit.
For appointment updates, please consent to receiving communications via email or SMS.During the booking process, you will select a 2-hour booking window for your MyVisit™ appointment. If you consent to receiving communications, on the day of your appointment, you will receive an email or SMS when your lab technician is en route, along with their estimated time of arrival and an interactive map to track their progress to your location.
Once your lab technician has arrived, appointments generally take between 15-30 minutes per person depending on the type and number of samples being collected.
MyVisit™ accepts Visa and MasterCard on the online booking portal.
If you are paying at time of service, Interac Debit, Visa and MasterCard are accepted. A receipt will be provided after successful payment.
At this time, all balances owing must be paid before service is rendered.
Depending on your insurance policy, your insurance company may cover the cost of this service. Please contact your insurance company to find out if you are covered.
After you pay for your MyVisit™ appointment, you may log in to your account to view your completed appointments in your dashboard. You’ll see a link to download your receipt which may be used to submit to your insurance provider if applicable as determined by your individual policy.
Test results are typically available within 24-48 hours and will be sent directly to your physician and available to you through MyCareCompass™ .
If you have never accessed your results on MyCareCompass™ (formerly MyResults), please call Customer Care on the next business day after your appointment at 1-877-849-3637 to obtain a “lab visit number” and complete your registration. You will need to provide your appointment date and provincial health card information.
All LifeLabs® technicians wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhere to Health Canada recommended protocols. They are also trained on best practices to ensure their safety, as well as the safety of you and your loved ones. After every MyVisit™ appointment, technicians will disinfect testing bags and wear new PPE prior to visiting your home.
B-type natriuretic peptide (BNP, Brain Natriuretic Peptide), partial thromboplastin time (PTT, APTT, thromboplastin time, part ACT), adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH), homocysteine (HCY), ammonia (NH3), glucose tolerance tests, , urine collections from a catheter, insulin like growth factor (IGF1), enhanced liver fibrosis (ELF), aldosterone, renin, cryoglobulin, sperm culture, calcitonin, DNA saliva, sputum, acid bacilli and urea breath tests.
Please also note these Rocky Mountain Analytical®®(RMA) panels contain tests which are not available for mobile collections with MyVisit™: Healthy living (fibrinogen), enhanced (fibrinogen), inflammation (fibrinogen), female hormone (DHEAS), fatigue (mono spot), methylation (homocysteine), vitamin (vitamin E, vitamin C) and nutrient (vitamin E, vitamin C) panels. There may be additional tests and services not available with MyVisit™, please contact myvisit@lifelabs.com if you have questions about collection availability prior to booking.
In accordance with our policies, please note that once payment has been processed, you must complete your appointment no later than 6 months from the date the payment has been processed. After this 6-month period, any fees paid cannot be applied to future appointments or be refunded. Should you need to cancel your appointment, you must provide at least 24 hours of notice.
Your safety and the safety of our employees is of primary importance. To ensure the appointment runs as smoothly as possible, please:
- • Have a support person with you if you need one
- • Avoid smoking or vaping in the collection location 2 hours prior to the visit, nor during the visit
- • Keep your pets restrained or in another room, but service animals are most welcome
- • Make sure any weapons are stored away
- • Ensure there is a clear and well-lit walking path to the front door and to the room you have selected for the blood draw
- • Let us know if you have a history of fainting when getting blood taken so that we can take appropriate precautions, and if possible, select a place where you can lie flat for the blood draw
- • Let us know if you or someone in the home has symptoms of illness, so we can take the appropriate precautions. You may be asked to wear a surgical mask during the visit.
